Culturally competent supervision calls for the supervisor to be aware of and sensitive to many cultural differences.
Create a composite of a culturally competent supervisor. Illustrate the skills that this supervisor possesses by providing explicit examples of how the supervisor uses these skills with supervisees. Explain the cultural elements that may interfere with the supervisory relationship. Present your ideas based on the readings and your own experience of what constitutes culturally competent counseling supervision. Include the culturally competent skills and qualities that an excellent supervisor possesses. Explain which cultural elements could interfere with learning in supervisory relationships.
Submit, your description of a culturally competent supervisor. In a 4- to 6-page paper, detail the importance of being culturally competent as a supervisor and which traits and characteristics contribute to successful culturally competent supervision. Be sure to cite at least two of the required readings to support your points.
The paper should be in correct APA format (1-inch margins, 12-point font) and should include relevant citations and references that are listed in hanging, indented format.
